The biggest unreported story around the FBI’s search of Trump’s safe and other possessions:
The FBI allegedly sought classified nuclear weapons planned when the Bureau searched former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, The Washington Post reported Thursday.
Apart from the stolen nuclear documents they were there to collect, what else did they find/see? Blackmail material on others? Drugs? Money-laundering info? They can come back with other warrants, and it is expected they will soon.
FBI officials were able to show probable cause and obtain a search warrant from a federal judge, according to the Miami Herald. The New York Times reported that the material in question was so sensitive that DOJ officials felt they had to take the “politically explosive step” of raiding Trump’s office.
“Two people briefed on the classified documents that investigators believe remained at Mar-a-Lago indicated that they were so sensitive in nature, and related to national security, that the Justice Department had to act.”
Merrick Garland confirms that the search warrant and property receipt were provided to Trump’s lawyer after the search was done at Mar-a-Lago. He adds that DOJ has filed a motion to unseal the search warrant. : “First, I personally approved the decision to seek a search warrant in this matter. Second, the department does not take such a decision lightly.”
Attorney General Merrick Garland’s claims that former President Trump’s attorneys were provided with copies of the search warrant & property receipt & that the attorneys were on-site during the FBI search are untrue, Trump lawyer Alina Habba told Newsmax.
Overnight: Donald Trump said he wouldn’t oppose unsealing docs related to the FBI’s search of his Mar-a-Lago home earlier, including a copy of the search warrant and a receipt of items that agents took – nothing official has been filed in court yet.
Republicans like McCarthy, Boebert, Greene, Jordan, Banks, etc., are freaking out over the search because maybe there are drugs and sex orgies on tape, and Trump has them.
McCarthy said, “DOJ professionals would have typed up a subpoena “duces tecum” and delivered it to Trump’s counsel. Search warrants are for drug dealers, kiddie porn purveyors, and human trafficking smugglers. This raid was over-the-top political grandstanding.”
