‘All in the Family’ was a legendary TV sitcom during its run from 1971 to 1979. The father on the show was played by the great Carroll O’Connor. He made a guest appearance on the ‘Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour’ in 1971, dressed in a tuxedo. He goes on to explain that he was inspired to write the lyrics to the closing theme of his hit show. Carroll performs the song for the audience to rousing applause.
