Though wildebeests are usually at the top of the list of prey for lionesses, this video shows a different relationship between the wild animals. In this film, a baby wildebeest is protected by a lioness as her motherly instincts are stronger than her desire to bring a kill home to her pride. The two animals walk very closely together, and it’s evident that the lioness is protecting the baby.
