Cochlear implants can offer transformative support for adults with hearing loss, but they are even more important for children. This is because children with hearing loss have limited time to develop speaking and listening skills. Suppose a hearing problem is not addressed with hearing aids or cochlear implants by age 3 (and preferably earlier). In that case, children with severe hearing problems may not develop hearing and speech skills naturally. It is sad to imagine how the things we take for granted daily are very valuable to others. It is heartbreaking to know how disabled one can be with the loss of such a vital organ. But with this video, we know that there is real hope for those who have lost their hearing.
