A wild stallion, Champ and his family grazed along the banks of the Salt River in Tonto National Forest. Intrigued by the colts playing on the opposite side of the bank, Champ’s family decided to cross the river. However, one of the young foals started to drown as she lost footing in the strong river current. The wild stallion Champ rescued the young filly and got her to safety.
