12-year-old Alex Lattergrass has taken it upon himself to show appreciation for the everyday heroes in his city. Through the 50-Yard Challenge, he’s not only mowing lawns but sowing seeds of goodwill and gratitude.

His dedication to the task is more than apparent as he enthusiastically goes about his work. He has started a 50 Yard Challenge. He is mowing lawns, picking weeds, & having a good time helping others.
The beneficiaries of Alex’s goodwill include law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, active military, and veterans. His father shapes his connection to law enforcement and his actions. Alex wishes to help officers like his father, who are busy helping the community.

Alex’s mother, Daniella Ramirez-Thiedeman, beams with pride as she talks about her son’s initiative. She thinks it is a powerful way for her son to utilize his skills to give back to the community.
Alex explains they have a wonderful LEO (law enforcement officer) family. Daniella’s husband is an officer with the Fargo Police Department, and she speaks of her husband with immense pride.

The kid’s community support has not gone unnoticed. Daniella reflects on the encouragement they have received: They have found several people change their social media profile picture in their support. It may seem so small. But it is moments like these that make her think that people do care and support them.
One child’s compassionate endeavor serves as a reminder that heroes come in all ages and sizes. In a world where chaos often seems to reign, Alex Lattergrass’s simple act of kindness radiates hope.
